Known as Coach Jie, my journey of self-discovery, learning how to better Live, Love, and Lead, has not only transformed who I am, but also how I contribute to this world.

My roots in China
Born in China to musician-professor parents, I grew up in an atmosphere of artistry, discipline, and curiosity. I studied the guzheng (Chinese harp) at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, surrounded by rehearsals, the scent of rosin, and the rhythm of dedication. My childhood was steeped in music, family warmth, and a food culture where every meal celebrated connection and tradition.
A New Chapter in Canada
At 19, I immigrated to Canada and earned a Bachelor of Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University. I worked as a TV and radio host for Fairchild while starting my career in International Higher Education. I thrived in Canada’s multicultural environment – where diversity was not only visible but celebrated – and learned to navigate and bridge perspectives across cultures, languages and ways of life.

Expanding Horizons in France
At 30, my curiosity led me to France, where I earned a Master’s in Global Communications at the American University of Paris. I continued my career in international higher education, holding senior leadership roles at a top French business school, managing teams in France, Asia, Latin America and Africa. These experiences strengthened my expertise in global strategy, cross-cultural management, and institutional growth, while sharpening my ability to connect with senior leaders and organizations facing complex challenges.
An Inner Turning Point
In 2016, motherhood and divorce brought both joy and challenge. I longed to understand myself more fully, move beyond blame and break old patterns. I turned to books and courses such as MindValley, diving into personal development and conscious awareness. This transformation reshaped how I showed up for others and myself – and lit the spark for my true calling as a coach.
My work has touched lives from students to CEOs, in ways I never imagined. One comment I’ve heard repeatedly from people of very different backgrounds, is that my presence feels like a “ray of light.” And deep down, I know this is not about me. It’s the power of coaching itself: creating the conditions for someone’s own inner light to be seen, trusted, and expressed.
